Svetlana "
Svetaska" Alexeeva - at present been know, for one of the best female CS 1.6 player on international scene. At upcoming weekend we will be able to see her, with her team, at
Pan-European Tournament Finals in ?ód?. In interview you can find out why Svetlana play CS and she's not in Russian volleyball representation.
Blood: Hello Svetaska. What's up ?
forZe|Svetaska: Heya! Im fine, thank you. Bit tired after non stop praccin, but everything is fine!
So now you are one of the best female CS 1.6 player in the world. How do you feel with it?
Huh :D nice to hear it. At least someone exept me thinks so :D But to be serious i like to show crazy game and do godlike frags. I like to hear when people got impressed with my gaming. It makes me pleasure and pride of myself.
What is in Counter-Strike, that makes you to play it? Because we know, that not many girls play CS.
Hmm. In the begginin ( when i was younger) it was desire to play better then boys do. Coz when i started to play CS boys always overplayed me and knifed me so much times that i decided to take revenge on them. Then i knew what cybersport is and still gaming is a kind of sport for me. I go in for sport since school time. First it was basketball, swimming and voleyball. Now its cybersport. I cant imagine my life without any sport element in it. Im just too heated :)
What did you have to devote to reach so high skill?
I play CS for about 9 years and it was a really long way. I cant tell that it was hard to reach such high skill, coz it was interesting for me to study this game, to find out new flashes, positions and tactics. Mainly i've paid a great attention to aim, praccin it on deathmatch servers and playin a lot with bots. I've watched a lot of demos of best world teams and players and learn the way they moved, the way they've made their decisions in different game situations. Moreover i've watched my own demos from every tourneys and sometimes from cw's and analysed my weak or strong points, and after that i did work on my mistakes in game. Sometimes top russain male pro players show to me new features and tricks, so like they teach me to play and understand nowdays gaming clearly. I still not content with my skill level and i always think i could play better. That makes me to improve my gaming skill all the time.
You have also very good team. How much time do you spend at trainings and how does this trainings look like?
Yeah. My team is best in the world! :) If we have a dead period ( without any events and tourneys) we have about 3 pracc days per week. Every pracc usually lasts for about 5-6 hours and mostly we play against russian boys teams. One day from this week we devote to one map discussion. Every player make a suggestion about rounds or tactic elements we will play on this map and then we try it in praccs. Then if something goes wrong we discuss it second time and make some modifications. And we do it again and again untill we will get some good results. Usually each player of our team makes some aim warmup before pracc. If we have upcomin tourney we start to pracc for about 5-6 days per week with same longlasting praccdays.
What, in your opinion, is perfect LAN tournament?
ESWC was pretendin to it i think. But in common perfect Lan tournament should include fair judging, good and comfortable for players technical conditions and internet connection. Matches should start without any delays. Event place should have some resting area and place where players can have some food and drinks. And of course there is no good event without big impressive stage and spectators hall.
You haven't play any match at Pan-European Tournament yet. What do you expect from PT LAN finals?
I hope we could show good teamplay on finals and we will fight for to reach on top at this tournament. I know there will be best female european teams at Pan Tournament so i expect to see a lot of intersting matches between em. And of course to get some experience and fun, playing against best european female players.
Which team can be most dangerous for you?
I think it will be swedish team Pink Zinic as always. Why? Answer is very easy: coz they are best among others female team in europe. But to be honest all teams are dangerous and we shouldnt underestimate any team that will participate at Pan Tournament.
Do you think, that the polish teams, which are only two, can be a danger for other teams?
As i said before i think all teams should be dangerous. We've played few times against polish teams at ESWC and won them easily. But it was long time ago so i dont know how they play nowdays. Anyway i think their skill lower then german or swedish teams skill.
Ok, so that'll be all. Good luck and see you in ?ód? :)
Good luck to u too and cya :)
